Unfortunately, working to send quality traffic to a site/blog is something every IM marketer needs to do. Obviously, traffic doesn't generate itself, and having a site isn't enough. It's absolutely necessary to build a reason into your site for people to want to spend more than 30 seconds there. It will require some knowledge and work to learn how to drive traffic, but it's really not all that hard to do. Building your website's traffic is something that you will need to work on a little bit each day. Once you get the ball rolling, though, you might find that some traffic will happen through methods that have nothing to do with you, like word of mouth! If you continue to read, you'll learn some proven tips you can use right away for traffic.

Search engines, and visitors, like sites with fresh content, and often, and you can easily do that with a blog. A site with stale content is only attractive, to most, for about one time - maybe two, and you'll have to rely on making a sale very quickly. You'll be able to encourage people to return with fresh, updated, and useful content. You'll be able to make more sales if people return to your site, preferebly every week. While getting even more traffic, you'll be building your online rep and establishing yourself as an expert. Everyone wins, and that's the way it should be.

You can increase your exposure by guest posting on websites, or blogs. You'll be able to tap into traffic from other blogs and sites if your content and name are published. You will get traffic if people read your content, like it, and it's well done. The key is to get well respected websites in your niche to feature your work. You'll just need to develop good relationship building skills.

You should try to take advantage of offline marketing, as well. Offline advertising can be very powerful in the right niches. If your ad copy is good, a classified ad in offline publications can be powerful. Giving away freebies like coffee cups, mousepads, and pens, etc can help to spread the word about your site. Not everyone has seen all the IM techniques, so some offline marketing leads may be easier sales.

As you learn about a variety of different ways to bring traffic to your website, you may actually find it hard to figure out which techniques to work on. You don't have to narrow it down to a single method, though; there's no reason why you can't use several techniques at once. You can learn how to bring hundreds, or even thousands of visitors to your site every week if you put in at least an hour, two at most, per day. Some of these visitors will become buyers!
